Dear members,

We are delighted to announce that, despite the adverse climate of the last twelve months, there is some positive news and the club is now in a position to commence the build of Phase 1 of our Master plan, this year.

On recommendation of our architect, we made the decision to take a phased approach and split the works between this year (phase 1a) and 2022 (phase 1b).  This strategy will allow us to afford to move forward with 'phase 1a' this year which consists of the extension to the right of the existing clubhouse.  This part of the building will see the installation of a disabled changing area, toilets cubicles and a multi-purpose room, which will comply with disability access and fire safety requirements.

We have appointed contractors and subject to COVID restrictions, the build should commence very shortly and is scheduled to be complete by September.

It has proved to be quite a financial challenge for a small club such as ours .  We have been very fortunate to receive the support of the Department of Sports & Tourism with the allocation of our Sports Capital Grant in 2018 which is now formally approved.  We are also very grateful to our District Council for their commitment and ongoing support with a Municipal Grant allocation in 2020 and finally we would like to thank Tomar Trust for their generous donation towards our project.

Nevertheless, as a club, we have to continue working on gathering much needed funds to pursue our plan.  On that note, we call on all our members to please give their support to our House Draw Fundraiser.

A big thank you goes to all involved  behind the scene for their commitment and efforts to bring us this far with the project.

Looking forward to exciting times ahead!

The Development Committee
